Phillip Beck

English teacher with two years teaching (and proof reading, journalism and editing) experience and holder of a BA Hons Degree in English & Media/Film Studies. I would regard myself as a 30 year old (born in 1980) newly domesticated ex-global traveller.

EXPERIENCE

I began teaching English as a second language in New Zealand (Rotorua Language Academy) two years ago, primarily to Korean and Indian students, and have been living and teaching here in the Czech Republic now since January 2010.

INTERESTS

INTERESTS: My first true love is music! I began DJing at university back in 1999, and carried on until leaving for Australia & New Zealand in 2006, holding a fortnightly residency at the Ember Lounge in Stoke, UK for four years. Sadly now without turntables, but I still collect and devour new music daily =) I occupy the rest of my time with teaching and writing (I love the language!), and mountain biking as much as possible - the bigger and steeper the descent, the better! I LIKE ABOUT LIVING IN THE CZECH REPUBLIC

The people, the history, the beer, the proximity to the lovely countryside and other amazing parts of Central Europe, and my beautiful Czech girlfriend...of course!
